چکیده

Breast cancer is the most prevalent neoplasm and second leading cause of death among females in Kenya. Estrogen its metabolites are known risk factors for breast cancer. Polymorphisms these genes susceptibility unique different populations. This study aimed to determine probable associations between estrogen-metabolizing gene variations other Kenyan women. Buffy coat samples were obtained from patients diagnosed with estrogen receptor-positive cancer, benign disease, healthy volunteers. Genotyping target polymorphisms was conducted using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. The rs4646903 variant genotype CC associated case-control model (P=0.001); heterozygous TC (P=0.01) luminal B molecular subtype (P=0.02) showed increased odds late-stage rs1048943 GG case-benign (P=0.04), whereas CG (P=0.02). These findings imply that genotypes involved Hence, they may be explored further as potential markers disease.

Association of CYP1A1 IIe462Val (rs1048943) Polymorphism with Breast Cancer in Iranian Women

Backgrounds and Aims: One member of the cytochrome P450 family, CYP1A1, is one of the genes involved in the metabolism of carcinogens and estrogen, which has been identified to be associated with breast cancer, as well. Considering the known effect of estrogen in different signaling pathways, disorders in these pathways will affect the risk of breast cancer. In this study, we evaluated the rela...

CYP1A1 rs1048943 and rs4646903 polymorphisms associated with laryngeal cancer susceptibility among Asian populations: a meta‐analysis

Many studies have investigated the association between CYP1A1 rs1048943 and rs4646903 polymorphisms and laryngeal cancer risk, but their results have been inconsistent. The PubMed and CNKI were searched for case-control studies published up to 01 July 2015. Data were extracted and pooled odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated. In this meta-analysis, we assessed 10 p...

Bioinformatics-Based Prediction of FUT8 as a Therapeutic Target in Estrogen Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer

Abstract Introduction: Estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancer is a subgroup of breast tumors that is more likely to respond to hormone therapy. ER-positive and ER- negative breast cancers tend to show different patterns of metastasis because of different signaling cascade and genes that are activated by estrogen response. Genetic factors can contribute to high rates of metastas...
